Video game players healthier and in better shape than the general public, esports study reveals
A survey of 1,400 gamers reveals they may be healthier than they are 21% more likely to have a healthier weight than the average person. Players are also 7.8% more likely to abstain from drinking daily than others.
The study also found they smoke less than the general public.
The study shatters the stereotype of Esports players viewed as individuals who sit around, eat junk food and guzzle down sugary drinks, and the finds recognizes these gamers are just the opposite.
Experts say this is because of the physical activity they do when playing esports.

GEN.G EXPANDS TEAM BUMBLE PARTNERSHIP, PLANS ALL-WOMEN VALORANT TEAM
Multinational organisation Gen.G has expanded its partnership with female-focused social networking app Bumble, as both entities collaborate to launch an all-women VALORANT team.
Gen.G will enlist the help of Team Bumble Fortnite player Madison ‘Maddiesuun’ Mann, who will serve as a mentor and talent scout to help find new VALORANT players for the organisation.

Cloud9 is partnering with Uconnect to support the collegiate esports scene.
The program will see Cloud9 provide resources for college students aiming to enter the esports industry, as well as host an intercollegiate tournament through the Uconnect platform.

Waiters told Esports Insider: “Esports has always been a healthy escape for me and it is something I can see myself being a part of for a long time”.
